Interesting day in the end, only the 18s flew. They just about got away on a minimum distance AAT before we had a big storm on the airfield. Watching the tracking and listening to the radio made for an interesting afternoon as we were all wishing Russell to beat Peter Erikson by 11 points to give him third. We had not noticed that the two Poles were having a bad day and that there was a slim chance Russell might even get into second. Russell aided by Gary and Ed all had a very reasonable flight and Russell did just enough to scrape in enough points to beat Peter Erikson and also Nieradka Zbigniew. If you look at the results today, it shows Russell at the top of the table but there is still a score or two to come in, notably from Staryszak Karol who should lead the competition unless he has had a double logger failure? So to round up, a very good day for the Brits which should have Russell in 2nd, Ed in 5th and Gary in 8th or 9th.
Today, day 10 we should have the Opens on the front as they need one more day to make up a 9th Result. It is just possible that Steve Jones can drag himself up to 4th and both Kim and Pete should be able to make it into the top 10. Only the weather will decide today if we fly.
